List of Vegetables
All raw leafy greens carry a small amount of toxins that protect the plants from being entirely consumed by other animals. If these toxins are consumed over a long period of time, they can build up and harm the thyroid. To prevent this it is important to rotate what staple vegetables are fed to your reptiles.
There are several anti-nutritional factors to plant matter but the most prominent of those have been highlighted during this list:- oxalates and goitrogens. Oxalates are calcium binding compounds and goitrogens are iodine binding, meaning they prevent absorption of the aforementioned nutrients by the gut, reducing their bioavailability.
